Sector 11 - The End of OPERATION DARK PORTAL

para1.jpg

CRT Teams two and three entered the lab. Right inside they found one of the lab techs. It was too late for her. The surviving Lab Tech was found in a state of extreme shock. He just stood in a corner clicking the trigger on his empty .45 auto with a terrified look on his face. We managed to get from him that the master power switch would shut down the power feeding the anomaly and that would end the crisis. He also told us the access code that would unlock the switch. Should we fail to cut the power, the anomaly would pretty much end the world as we know it.

"Sir, I have entered the access code, but it appears I need some kind of ID card to unlock the panel! The master power switch will not operate!" "I repeat... the switch will not operate!" "Sir, what do we do now?"

In the meantime, the other team members start to search the lab for an ID card. One of them notices a suspicous cable...

Suddenly, they were plunged into total darkness. Seems that "suspicous cable" was the power cord. The Team radioed in, "Power is shut down, Anomaly under Contol"!

And with that... Operation Dark Portal was at an end.

SUBJECT: OPERATION DARK PORTAL

I am happy to report Operation Dark Portal was a success. Our teams have concluded the first documented joint operation and have successfully contained Anomaly 26-F and brought the situation in Sector 11 under control. My heartfelt thanks go out to all Flash Force commands who joined in with this operation. Awards will be going to the following commands:

Lightning 6, Teddy Terstegge
Lightning 62, Keith Terrell
Flash 106, Raven Force
Flash 107, John Kozin
Flash 156, George Campbell
Flash 165, Allan Stenhouse
Flash 171, Azazel
Flash 212, John Bersalona

It was a very close thing right down to the final evacuation call. CRT Two reached lab 36 and managed to cut off the power fueling the crisis with the anomaly and CRT Three rescued the remaining lab technican. All future operations with Sector 11 will be controlled and monitored by our USDOC forces.

Mop up operations will continue for a while. At least no new crisis will be forthcoming until we are prepared for it.

A cover story is in place and all word of this operation outside of USDOC commands will be classified. California will continue to experience rolling blackouts in part as a smoke screen to avoid attention to Sector 11.
